The now defunct Fear Factory had something special. Although their fondness for experimentation became stale towards the end of their career, they had their style down and nobody could touch them. That fact couldn"t be more present than on "Digitial Connectivity", the group"s first and only DVD. Yes, we"ve got the usual stuff here - live concert footage, backstage going on"s and...well, lots of tits. I"m not kidding, these guys are obsessed with girlies and there is enough footage of booty and breasts to satisfy the wanking habits of every teenager out there. Jump out of your sticky sheets and enjoy the DVD for what it is - a true showcase of the group"s talents, certainly live, where they ultimately delivered the most power.
Live renditions of "Martyr", "Demanufacture", "Dog Day Sunrise"," Shock" and "Digimortal" are all here, taken from various points in the band"s career. You"ll also find all of the group"s promo videos, up to "Linchpin" (first single from 2001"s "Digimortal"). With extensive information on the group"s releases and a selection of audio tracks - one of which is completely new - "Digital Connectivity" is certainly packed full of content. So, what about the main footage?. Well, we get to see Burton picking his nose and eating the tasty find, Dino on the toilet and plenty of middle-finger action. It"s all here and in brilliant image quality. The live footage is not always top-notch quality but it was the band"s decision to put the live footage out there "as is", rather than engineer or overdub anything. The fascinating root and rawness of the band is displayed and, thankfully, the band deliver with style.
So, "Digital Connectivity" showcases many of the elements that made Fear Factory such a special and unique band. While not perfect (bonus material and more live footage would have been another plus point), the DVD does reveal the group"s once-tight relationship and their need to deliver the finest metal - just where it was needed. Buy it - but not for the tits.
